🦸♂️🦸♀️✨ Superheroes Unite at SJE! Under the direction of SJE art teacher Mrs. Fiolek and the entire second-grade team, students drew themselves as superheroes, complete with unique powers or magical tools. But the fun didn't stop there! Fashion students at Washington High School Fashion Class then brought the superhero visions to life with the help of CTE instructor Ms. Magaha. This week, these talented fashion designers presented the finished superheroes to our second graders over lunch! The excitement didn't end with the costumes - SJE students also teamed up with their new WHS friends to create stories about their superheroes. This heartwarming project is a true testament to the power of teamwork, collaboration, caring, and kindness. A huge thank you to everyone involved - this is an experience our students will cherish forever!

Crafts, science experiments, reading aloud, and a special conservation project were all on the agenda as the WHS Key Club spent April 22 - Earth Day - with BRP students from Pre-K through second grade. BRP students enjoyed making Earth Day crowns and necklaces, planting seeds, learning about the water cycle, and making their own water filtration "tank" with Key Club members. Afterward, everyone shared a picnic lunch on the playground, and the teens helped pick up litter along BRP's walking trail before they departed. Thank you to these Key Club members for teaching our younger students the true meaning of Earth Day! 🌳🌿🌎

JCS Reminder: Tomorrow, Friday, April 12th is a 2-Hour Early Dismissal for students and a Faculty Senate day for staff.

🏋️♂️ Washington High School students showed off their strength in an Iron Soldier deadlift competition during a recent table visit from the soldiers of the U.S. Army Recruiting Station in Martinsburg and the Frederick Army Recruiting Company. Kyree Brooks, John Wilson, and Grace Troxel emerged as the winners of the challenge to deadlift 150 pounds on a hex bar for maximum reps. Now that's what we call a flex - literally! 💪
